Nevis Railway Bookshops have been trading in secondhand and out of print railway books in
Marlborough since 1989.

At the Marlborough Bookshop there are over 5000 selected railway titles sorted under subject and publisher headings. Sections
include company history, steam locomotive management, railway modelling, narrow gauge railways, overseas
railways, etc. There are smaller sections on canal, bus, tram and industrial history.
The stock also includes a selection of 30,000 black and white photographs.
Other areas include bound and unbound periodicals, railway paperwork, timetables and videos.
Although Marlborough is not on a rail route, an
excellent bus-train service is available connecting with Thames Trains via Bedwyn
and First Great Western at Swindon. The journey time from Reading via Bedwyn is about an hour and
from Swindon between 35 minutes and an hour.
Timetable information for First Great Western
and Travel Line, which gives bus times from Swindon, is available
from the links above.
Good on street parking is available with a large car park at the rear of Waitrose off Hilliers Yard.

Nevis shares the Katharine House Gallery with another
well established secondhand bookshop. Built in 1588, Katherine House was formerly a rope factory and boasts oak-beamed
ceilings and has a peaceful atmosphere. It is a Grade 2 listed building, and can be found at the end of the Parade.
It is located away from the main shopping area next to the fire station and close to a large
antiques centre.
Marlborough is a picturesque market town with good pubs and eating places. There is an excellent military bookshop
in The Parade and another second-hand bookshop in Kingsbury Street.
